Corporate Social Responsibility

Our Social Context

Businesses are empowered members of the communities they belong to and work within; we believe therefore, that social stewardship is as important a goal, as our company’s continued economic growth.

We not only manage our own resources and operations with sustainability in mind, but also undertake community-development activities, to better the lives of people with limited access to education, healthcare and social equity.

To promote education and upskilling among disadvantaged youth, irrespective of gender, caste or religion

To support children afflicted by brain development disorders such as autism and cerebral palsy

To employ the objectives of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan within our workplaces, and extend them to our sites, and waste/debris management techniques used therein

CSR Initiatives

HSP is committed to the upliftment of disadvantaged poor, and those with special needs, without discrimination of caste, creed, race, and gender or religion. We are associated with adoption of 50 girls, covering their expenses for school fees, books, food and healthcare.

Mahatma Vidyalaya:

The School caters to students from 43 villages within a 12 kms radius from it and follows a policy of quality education at minimum cost. Its main objective is to create well-rounded citizens, with strong moral and spiritual values. Woodkraft is associated with the repair of school furniture and infrastructure, and financial support.

Friends of Tribal Society (FTS):

We are associated with FTS, under the One Teacher School (OTS) Program, or Ekal Vidyalaya, that takes education to the doorstep of tribal households across 18 states. Woodkraft supports 20 such schools, serving 400 students in Mysore, via a fund used for infrastructure maintenance, books, uniforms, etc.

Aid for Woodkraft workers’ children:

For 10 years, we have been supporting 50 children of our site-staff with their school-fees.

We also fund and support Vyakti Vikas Kendra and Janaseva Vidya Kendra, a boys’ boarding school run by the Janaseva Trust, and located on Magadi Road, Channenahalli, in Bangalore.
